Adam Vox company was originally established in the spring of 2004 based on years of production of passive loudspeaker systems. Our goal was to produce systems that would enable listeners to experience sound nearing reality which became the top priority during the development phase. Adam Vox company was transformed into a Limited Company in September 2012.
In 1995 a new baffle-board design was developed and is used as the scheme when designing new types of loudspeaker systems. The development focused on the production of a rigid baffle-board, which we managed to accomplish. The final outcome is loudspeaker systems whose attributes are baffle-boards immune to their own resonances and sound performance free from interfering sound timber.
Adam Vox, Ltd. company produces all its products only in one quality class. That`s why all the products made under Adam Vox brand name are labelled by the following quality information: “Standard quality Class AA“. Every single product is thoroughly checked and after meeting all the criteria it is labelled by a stamp with the given data: “Standard quality Class AA“. There is an authentic signature under the stamp...
We have passed the company appraisal, which is accomplished in term of economic results, position at the market and other parameters. The result is an allocation of a certificate for years 2014, 2015 and 2016. Companies with the best results are awarded by Certificates of Solvency and are assigned to the Register of Solvent Companies. Certificates of Solvency are achieved by 7,8% of companies in Slovak Republic.
In 1995 a new baffle-board design was developed and is still used as the primary scheme when designing new types of loudspeaker systems. The development focused mainly on the production of a rigid baffle-board, which we managed to accomplish. The final outcome is loudspeaker systems whose main attributes are baffle-boards immune to their own resonances and sound performance free from interfering sound timber.
Our loudspeaker systems fall into three quality classes (Reference, High End a HiFi), which in fact differ only by the outer design. The common feature of all the three classes is the fact that the baffle-boards are made as a combination of two different materials – natural wood and MDF. Cabinet (corpus) made of MDF is joined together by an interlocking click lock guaranteeing an absolutely compact joint. The front wall of the baffle-boards is made of pure solid wood. The reference class has solid wood stuck to the corpus whereas High End and HiFi classes have natural veneer stuck to the corpus. By shaping the baffle-board and thoroughly filleting all the edges, we acquired such emitted sound signal that is deteriorated at a minimum level when reflected. By placing converters “coil over coil” no critical problem with phasing arises.
However, it is not only about the outer design, it is also the technology hidden inside the baffle-board. A set of open chambers, which we named by a working title "Chamber Sound Waves Absorption - CSWA", is apart from its irregular shapes, meant to literally eliminate the stationary sound waves inside the baffle-board. The mentioned chambers, made of MDF also support the overall rigidity as well as reduce the resonance of the baffle-board. All the inner (full) baffle-board walls are "reinforced" by bituminous sheets. All the openings in the chambers are carefully filleted.
These baffle-boards are implanted only with high-quality products such as drivers Morel®, passive components Mundorf®, Rike Audio, connectors WBT, AEC®, damping material TWARON® “Angel Hair“, etc.
Most of the work is a hand-made craftsmanship, which makes every piece a unique original. The production is time demanding and complicating which necessitates a highly-skilled craftsman – modeller. For this reason we produce exclusively made-to-order loudspeaker systems.
By using the presentation slogan “SOUND AS IT’S MEANT TO BE“ we wish for it to become a reality for the future owners of Adam Vox loudspeaker systems and thus fulfil the mission statement of our company.
There is an authentic signature of the owner of Adam Vox, Ltd. company under the stamp, without which the expedition of the product is impossible. To make the text of the stamp well-visible, the signature never overlaps the stamp imprint. The stamp imprint can be found at the bottom of this document.
By the term “Standard quality Class AA“ the following is meant:
To make all Adam Vox products we use only high-quality components.
Solid wood, natural veneer, corpus
It is a standard procedure that the material is chosen in the 1st quality class. Natural veneer and solid wood are active materials. Finished products will retain their original properties within interior (home) space after adhering to certain conditions. It is in particular relative air humidity, which should range between 45 to 55 % at the optimum temperature of 18 to 22°C. When not adhering to these basic parameters, the material in question can suffer deflexions, such as cracks in solid wood and veneer, twisting of solid wood, deformities of openings in which drivers are placed (e.g. occurrence of moderate egg shape). Minor alterations to the solid wood (cutting surfaces) such as healthy and adherent “knobs” left after branches are not considered to be a defect. We never use plastic foils or any other material imitating wood.
Natural veneer is stuck on the corpus in a special way – using a vacuum press while applying high-quality glue; it is therefore impossible for the veneer to get unstuck, partially or completely, not even after a long-term operation. The rigidity of the baffle-board is secured by joining material together with an interlocking click lock and a system of supporting crossbeams creating mutually interconnected chambers (system CSWA).
The final surface treatment is commonly performed using natural oil waxes. The mentioned oil waxes are environmentally friendly and abide by the strict European standards.
When applying transparent oil wax (without colour pigmentation), a so-called “honey effect” can occur after certain time period. However, this is not considered a defect.
On the contrary: As for the visual aspect, partial colour change is very pleasant to look at. This effect arises as a result of a natural reaction of air with oil wax and material. Potential visual variances occurring during the operation can be dealt with by surface treatment with commonly available wax agents. In case of major visual variances (e.g. due to various mechanical damage to the surface), it is possible to apply new oil-wax coat, which is a great advantage compared to surface treatment by e.g. varnish.
Drivers, crossover, connecting terminals
For a long time we have been using drivers made by Morel Ltd., which are characterized by quality construction and a very good sound performance. They are all hand-made products. Morel Ltd. company offers drivers in both HiFi and High End class.
Crossover is embedded with components made by Mundorf EB GmbH company. The advantage of the offer of these passive components is their quality assortment, which we utilize when embedding a crossover for individual classes of loudspeaker systems (Hi Fi; High End). Loudspeaker systems in High End class are also embedded with passive components made by Rike Audio company. We do not use active circuit boards; the components are soldered together, which brings qualitative advancement in the area of sound as evidenced by previous experience.
As for connection, we use loudspeaker terminals made by AEC connectors Co, Ltd., which meet all quality standards.
Final Burn-In and Measurement
All the loudspeaker systems undergo a several-hour burn-in process by Burn-in system upon finishing the production process. After the burn-in procedure they undergo a check measurement (frequency response and impedance). The loudspeaker systems reach the standard sound quality after the burn-in process by Burn-in system after approximately 300 to 500 hours of operation. The burn-in is possible also in a classical way: by listening to diverse music signal. This is, however, much more time-consuming.
Adam Vox Company, Ltd has passed the company appraisal, which is accomplished in term of economic results, position at the market on the country´s territory and also in considering the position at the market within the region and other parameters (the company doesn´t have any registered debts, it isn´t in any insolvent business, in bankrupt or liquidation, the company doesn´t have any commitments more than 30 days after maturity date, promissing appraisal scores, regular publication of financial results in the Collection of Acts).
